BANSAL STARS AS 1st XI BEAT ALFORD TO CONTINUE GOOD START TO LIFE IN THE LINCS ECB PREMIER LEAGUE

Karanjit Bansal on his way to another half century

A brilliant performance from the 1st XI against Alford took them to their first full 20 points of the season and 2nd win of the season in the only two fully completed games they have played in the league this season.

Bowling first Ben Brumby and Karanjit Bansal opened the bowling and kept things tight not allowing the Alford batsman to get away. But it was Jamie Brumby who came on and picked up the first wicket. Alfords innings never got going with relentless pressure coming from Towns bowling attack and in the field. Garmesh Chand was in fantastic form picking up 2/35 in 12 overs. Ben Brumby took 2/29 and Rory Franklin 2/25. The pick of the bowlers was Karanjit Bansal who took 3/24 in 14 overs. Alford were eventually bowled out for 144.

The run chase off to a positive start led again by skipper Karanjit Bansal. Arbind Singh and Bansal put on 67 in 9 overs that Town in control. Bansal was dismissed with the score on 90 after scoring a brilliant 57 off 37 balls. His 4th half century in 4 innings so far this season. Arbind Singh continued on before he was stumped for 57 with the score on 138. We knocked off the runs 3 wickets down in 22 overs to complete a dominating win and continue a great start to life in the Lincs ECB Premier League.
