Karanjit Bansal is our head coach at Scunthorpe Town Cricket Club.

A little background on him below.

Karanjit has an impressive playing career having played Minor Counties cricket for Lincolnshire and played 2nd Team cricket for Nottinghamshire, Worcestershire and Northamptonshire. He started at the age of nine, playing U/12s for Lincolnshire. He was then selected to be a part of Nottinghamshire CCC's Academy from the age of 14 through to 19 and gained a scholarship at Worksop College where he spent three years. Two of those years he played alongside current England Test Captain Joe Root. He has played alongside some of the best players in the country and worked with some of the best coaches in the country as well as some of the best coaches in India, such as India A and India U/19 (2018 World Champions) Assistant coach/Fielding coach Abhay Sharma.

He currently holds the Lincolnshire Minor counties one day bowling record with 6/47 in what was his third Minor Counties appearance and remains one of the youngest players to score three centuries in a championship season (6 matches). He has one 2nd team century which came against Hampshire while playing for Northamptonshire where he scored 100 not out to save the game.

He is a Level 2 coach and has been running one to one sessions for the past 5 years. He has done some work in various schools and clubs around Lincolnshire. He is currently also working with the Lincolnshire Cricket Board as their Batting and Spin specialist Coach as well as the U/14 Squad Coach.
